Strip Tease at the Airport? Well, almost….

So you think waiting around at an airport is boring and tedious? Not really …… it can be good time pass if you know where to look! 

And I’m here to help you with that 🙂

When you enter the International Airport you first head off to your Airline’s counter to get your boarding pass, right? To get there, in case you haven’t web-checked in, you need to stand in a long snaking line, which sometimes, in peak season can be really really long! Ask me – been there, done that!!

You inch forward in slow motion trying to negotiate your luggage trolley between the dividers and I tell you – some airports have really strange trolleys, deliberately done to stress us out! It never moves in the direction you want it to. It’s like a woman’s mind. Unpredictable! Tell it to go left and it promptly rushes off to the right.

So you’ve finally got your boarding pass and you head off to the immigration counter to get your passport stamped.

You with me till here?

Then the guy at the immigration counter goes through your passport and tells you to look at the camera. You turn towards the camera and automatically smile.

Wait – you just smiled at the immigration camera? Come come – they only want to identify you, not put you on the cover of Vogue! 😉

Anyway – after your passport gets stamped, the little door opens for you and you go stand in line for the final security check.

And this is where the fun begins! Stick around I’ll tell you more. 🙂

So there’s this security guy at the top of the line shouting away like a vegetable seller at the Friday market. Except that this guy is just repeating instructions to put our mobile phones, watch, bangles etc into our bags.

We start playing around with all of that stuff while juggling with our cabin baggage – vanity bag, laptop, travel pillow and of course bags and bags of duty free liquor!

Then, the scene starts getting exciting – it starts to resemble a strip tease show.

Remember that guy strutting around the airport in designer clothes and a designer swagger? Well, this is where his true colours are revealed. And how!

The security guy instructs him to remove his jacket. So far so good.

Next – the belt. Here we go…..

The belt comes off and the already low-lying designer jeans slip further south –  giving us a hint of pink boxer shorts with what looks like little yellow butterflies on them! 

Whoa… our macho guy is really a butterfly at heart! Nice! 🙂

But wait. We’re not done yet.

The shoes need to come off too. So the chap obediently bends down to take them off, the pants slip further down and everyone now has a 3D vision of his generous butterflied behind.

Finally the Gucci/LaCoste/Ralph Lauren shoes are off and what have we beneath them?

Yes yes. I can hear the audience stamping their feet and shouting -Tell us, tell us, jhoothe ke neeche kya hai?

I’ll tell you – we have, or rather he has one sock in shocking orange and the other in bright blue. And that’s not all – remember the mint with a hole? Well that’s not the only thing with a hole. This guy’s socks have holes too! Uhoh!

At the end of all this drama in technicolor, our hero is sure to have slipped down the swag ranking quite a bit. Now if he struts around acting like he’s the next Tom Cruise you’re not impressed, because you’ve seen through him.

Tsk Tsk! Pity.
