Radhika's Diaries

Looking for a humor blog? You've come to the right place!

Actor, Hero or Superstar,
How I wonder what you are!
Glitter, glamour, money and fame.
It looks like that to us from far!

So much swag till yesterday,
On Social media you had lots to say.
Now that you’ve finally found your tongue,
I hear you’ve gone to court today!

The actual players are running round in a maze,
kicking up dust and creating a haze.
throwing the public completely off track,
leading them on a wild goose chase.

Let’s pause awhile and survey the scene.
Don’t you think B-Town needs a good dry clean?
It’s picked up dirt through all these years,
concealing it’s genuinely golden sheen.

We‘ve put these actors on a pedestal so high.
Can you give me one good reason why?
It’s time to bring them down to earth
and put the real stars back in the sky!

🙂

  1. I’ve stopped watching news altogether. There is so much venom being spewed around and so much negativity.

Well said. I enjoy watching movies but never have had crushes over film actors. Or like supremely impressed by them. Because well they are actors and you dont know when they are real and when they are acting.

That’s the sad part of our society. We ourselves are to be blamed for this thing. We make them God-like and then wonder what went wrong. Like this poetic introspection mam. All the best for your second book. Keep the wonderful work going.

Loved how you expressed yourself in this poetic style.
We need to choose our heroes wisely. And whole setup needs a dry-clean for sure.
Poems are love and they say so much in less words.
    Harsh truth penned well.

People need their stars nearby, not billions of kilometres away. If there are no heroes, people will create them. Just as they do with gods.

  22. Soo true, they are normal humans like us and we made them influencers who (atleast most of them) do not care about what they are recommending and being an example / role model… High time we look at treating them as equals…

Lovely poem aptly describing the situation. Indeed a film is so much more than actors, everyone should realise that. Bollywood needs a drucleaning, n TV news media needs a deep sanitization for sure.

  32. This lovely thought provoking poetic post reminds me the time when I used to take MBA classes. I asked my students of their ‘One personality that compels when to do something out of the box’, mostly all the answers were in tune of Bollywood actors. I was bewildered and agitated at the same time. How easy is to feel young minds and pump up with the fake realities of life.

Everyone pay a prize for their fame, actors are paying by putting themselves at a pedestrian where everyone could judge decisions of their life. They’re human too and liable to make mistakes.

  37. Nazish says:

The line where it says we have put these actors on pedestal high, is so apt. I really don’t know why people worship celebs so much. Liking someone is different for their looks or art form, but giving them a whole new kind of place like worshipping them is to another level which i dont understand as well.
