Radhika's Diaries

Looking for a humor blog? You've come to the right place!

I’m sure you’ve heard of Bollywood,
that desi version of Hollywood.

It’s full of superstars and divas
whose lives, from afar, seem such a farce!

It looks like so much pomp and splendour,
flashing light bulbs and so much glamour.

On screen they portray someone else’s story,
in designer clothes and borrowed jewellery.

Off screen, it does seem so very odd
how we put them on a pedestal and treat them likeΒ  God!

The public demands from them a statement
for whatever happens in College Campuses or on the pavement.

If they keep silent and mind their own business,
We moan ‘How insensitive and heartless!”

Finally when they do open their mouth,
Alas, in an instant their popularity graph goes south!

Saif Ali, Salman and Shah Rukh Khan
at the drop of a hat, we yell ‘Go to Pakistan!

As for Deepika, Kareena or Kangana Ranaut
It’s forever “Ban their films!” “Let’s Boycott!”

Why we accord them so much authority
is to me an absolute mystery!

Isn’t it obvious they grab every opportunity
to rake up controversy, for attention and publicity?

All that melodrama and pretension
is merely to rake in the Box Office Collection.

For or against, whatever their stance
It’s all done with an eye on their bank balance.

For at the end of the day, you’ve got to agreeΒ
Superstars or not, they too need to feed their family!
