The Adventures of theย  JP Family

artist – Sudarshan Rao

Presenting the JP Family, whose members are JayPrakash Uncle, his wife – Srilatha and their two boys Raju and Raghu (missing in the above portrait).

The JP family is from Udupi, a small district in the southern State of Karnataka, India;ย  but they live in an unnamed metro! ๐Ÿ™‚

They are a typical middle-class Indian family of these times – caught between a fast-dying traditional way of life and a rapidly over-taking modern (read – western) way of life.

JP Uncle works in an unidentified 9 to 5 job and is a law-abiding citizen. He always pays all his bills and taxes on time; and needless to say he’s the Head of the family, when The Aunt is not around (again needless to say)!

The Aunt is a good house-wife and a good mother.ย  She loves her family, her home and a bit of drama now and then – not necessarily in that order!

The boys are ……. well, boys!! I mean, they’re typical of their age – they love their gadgets, they love football and they love a healthy bout of sibling rivalry.

The series chronicles the ordinary Life and Times of the JP family, a family you might relate to, a family you might find familiar and you might even find a little bit of yourself and your family in these 4 characters.*

I sincerely hope you’ll will love them as much as I loved thinking them up!!

This is the 1st in the series – The Adventures of The JP Family.

*Disclaimer : These 4 characters and any others which may feature subsequently are purely fictional and any resemblance to anyone is a coincidence.ย

Credits – The cute South Indian couple above owes their existence to the hugely talented and artistic Mr. Sudarshan Rao!!

    Wow…good intro to the family.
I am already impatient to know more about them.
This family could very well be mine… what with a husband, a wife and two sons being the characters.
Bring on their adventures then! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have been around. Just that because I shifted from wordpress.com to a self hosted wordpress.org site, I am a little lost trying to figure things out. I have lost touch with some of my blogger friends in the process. Reconnecting now.
