Radhika's Diaries

Looking for a humor blog? You've come to the right place!

Hey! Did you guys wake up today morning to the sound of music and fire-works? No? Well That’s ok, because I didn’t either; not if you count the partner’s snores as music…… fire-works maybe……. 😉

But I begin to digress. Getting back on track, it’s kind of a big day today – for me at least. It happens to be my baby’s birthday. Yesss! My baby has turned 1 today. 🙂 Heigh Ho! On this day a year ago, I delivered a wee bonny internet baby and till today – both mother and baby are doing fine! It’s a Hap Hap Happy blogday to me!! And this is where I take a short break to do the merry jig around the room. 🙂

It’s been a fun one year I must say, a year which saw 25 posts go out into the wide web world, and my list of blog followers grow to 388. The figures could have been more exciting, but I’m not complaining. I don’t wanna be one of those mothers who tell their child – “98/100 in Math?  Ooookay…… Now, how about we focus on those 2 missing marks…..!”

Of course the year has not always been smooth sailing, I admit. Some posts have been well visited and the number of eye-balls for it have been pretty satisfying and encouraging. And when a couple of friends ‘share’ a post, its quite like my baby is being passed around from hand to hand and people are gushing over it. All that 99% perspiration – from the time I think up an idea to blog about, to the moment I hit the ‘publish’ button – seems worthwhile! Whereas the other times, when some posts see very less visitors dropping by – it’s somewhat akin to the situation where I (as a proud parent) try to show off the baby’s  talents, and I croon …”where’s your nosey?” and “show aunty your booty!” And only a handful of doting relatives clap and coo politely. It’s disappointing yes, but that’s when I start getting philosophical and give myself pep talks and remind myself that “it’s ok, it’s fine, I’m just doing it for the love of it, I’m not in it to win it” and more along the same lines. 🙂

However, and here I’m just following a stray thought, when a picture I upload on Facebook of a rather tasty-looking dish, rakes in the ‘likes’ and ‘views’ and ‘comments’ at a dizzy speed, while a funny punny post that I spent hours of sweating and slogging and writing and re-writing,  acts like a… well,  like a firework rocket which fizzes out after a promising false start; I then pause to reflect on whether  I should, maybe, switch interests and go into food blogging? The way to a person’s brain is through his stomach and all that! :/

However, worry not folks, that’s  not gonna happen. I shall continue doing what I do best, and not venture down uncertain paths! So all you lovely lovely people out there –
Stick around with me for more humour reads and I shall strive to spread cheer and bonhomie through my blogs, just as I promised you in My First Post a year back.

Keep visiting my site, keep reading and commenting, and feel free to spread the good word about my blogs to friends, relatives, the friendly neighbourhood grocery man and stray strangers on the streets. No hidden charges. No T & Cs.

Cheers! 🙂
